Husqvarna’s 2026 robot mowers bring AI vision to more gardens
What Husqvarna’s latest wire-free Automower technology means for homeowners — and what still matters before buying one.

What is new?
Husqvarna’s 2026 Automower range includes models using built-in cameras and AI vision to recognise and avoid obstacles. The newer systems are aimed at bringing wire-free robotic mowing to more small and medium-sized lawns.
Why it is interesting
Removing the need for a traditional buried boundary wire can simplify installation and make layout changes easier. Obstacle recognition is also increasingly important in real gardens containing toys, furniture, wildlife and temporary objects.
What to check before buying
- Lawn size and shape
- Slopes and narrow passages
- Tree cover and signal conditions
- Whether edges will still need manual trimming
- Security, charging position and winter storage
KS view: Robot mowers can be brilliant for maintaining an already suitable lawn, but they are not a substitute for fixing drainage, compaction, moss, poor edges or badly laid turf.
